INSIDE THE HALLIBURTON LITIGATION STORYConsidering that a $6 million settlement was preliminarily approved after it was announced by Halliburton only to have the judge on the case recuse himself, is astounding. Even more compelling is the fact that the new judge appointed to the case denied the settlement. At the final approval hearing, it was proven that one voice can make a difference as the AMS Fund, one of four Lead Plaintiffs, objected to the settlement and successfully had the objection upheld. The Judge then ordered a 4th Ammended Complaint to be filed. Halliburton and the four individual defendant's moved to dismiss that complaint. The Judge denied most of the motion to dismiss and the defendant's requested the court to certify the order for an interlocutory appeal. An interlocutory appeal is one that occurs at the Judge's discretion. Because this case is still in litigation, some pieces of this story cannot be told, but as more information becomes available for public release, you may find it here. The inside story of this case will soon unfold and demonstrate the power of one lone voice. So please, check in often. | |||||||||||||||||||
